To begin the enrollment process carefully read the application information and instructions below.

How to Begin

A personal interview is required of all interested applicants. To obtain information by mail or to schedule a tour contact The Academy Office at 410.252.4481 or 410.252.4244.

Prospective students must meet the following requirements to enter the cosmetology or manicuring programs at Robert Paul Academy:

  • At least 17 years of age
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and comprehend written English
  • Physical ability: Students entering the cosmetology profession should be in good physical condition. Prospective students having chronic illness/fatigue, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, severe skin sensitivity/product allergies, prescription induced illness or drug/alcohol addiction will have difficulty succeeding in the field.


Academy Training Salon

Students successfully completing the 0 -350 core curriculum graduate to the academy training salon.

The service floor is a full-service, non-request teaching salon that allows students to apply their communication & consultation skills to live models and their practical skills to a variety of hair textures and types. Students work on clients under the direct supervision of Academy floor instructors. All work is evaluated and recorded daily.
